Angelica archangelica - Our Namesake

Angelica blossom

Historically considered an angelic plant with magical powers of protection and healing, today the angelica herb is used medicinally and holistically to strengthen a person's resistance to many toxins and weaknesses. At Angelica Kitchen, we strive to evoke the plant's healing tradition, and are proud to share it's queenly name.

Supporting our Growers and Producers

Angelica Kitchen is a nutritionally based restaurant. We prefer to deal directly with our purveyors, artisans, and farmers, and are committed to eliminating the middleman. Direct connections, proven through years of experience, assure the quality, vitality, and freshness of the food and enables us to provide wholesome seasonal meals. Introducing lesser known ingredients such as sea vegetables, heirloom beans, and ancient grains to the menu, exposes these nutritionally beneficial foods to our guests. Our goal is to feed people real, whole foods daily.

Our first priority is to nurture deep roots in the farming community economically through our buying power. By purchasing consistently and in great quantity, we support the small diversified family farmer's ability to sustain a rural lifestyle which we feel is the antidote to corporate industrial agriculture, organic or not. Buying local makes it possible for Angelica Kitchen to maintain close working relationships with its suppliers, trading basic information and educating each other. The delightful result of this policy is that our customers get the best of the best from the suppliers in freshness and vitality!

At Angelica Kitchen, fresh, delicious food is served in an atmosphere where sustainable agriculture and responsible business practices are the main ingredients.

This combination reflects our deep respect for the environment and our gratitude toward the dedicated people who produce our food.

All Angelica's food is prepared right here, fresh each day. Practicing intuitive cooking, the menu changes daily according to season, weather, availability of ingredients, and the personal creativity of our chefs.

We use first quality organically grown ingredients often served to you less than forty eight hours after harvest. In addition, we use no refined sugars, no preservatives, no dairy, no eggs, no animal products whatsoever.

Our guarantee: a minimum of 95% of all food used to prepare our menu has been grown ecologically.
